Biographical Notes:

" Bombardier Andrew Cornaga, who has been killed in action, was the third son of Mr. Victor Cornaga, of Auckland. He was born in Auckland, and was in his 25th year. He was educated at the Normal School. At the time he enlisted he was in the employ of Messrs. Ross and Glendening. Bombardier Cornaga was for two years a member of the A Battery, in which unit he went through the Gallipoli campaign. Bombardier Cornaga was well-known in sporting circles, having been a prominent amateur runner and an enthusiastic member and player of the Marist Brothers' Old Boys' Football Club. He was also a keen yachtsman as a member of the North Shore Yacht and Victoria Cruising Clubs. His brother Victor, who also went with the main body, in at present invalided in England, and another brother, Albert, is in camp at Narrow Neck with the Tunnelling Corps."
