Biographical Notes:

"Gunner Huon Pulsford Gibbons, died at sea, was the eldest son of Mr John R. Gibbons, chief reporter of the Wellington "Evening Post." The late Gunner Gibbons, who enlisted at the age of 19 years, was educated at Te Aro and Terrace Schools, and at Wellington College. He was a member of the literary staff of the "Post," and showed great promise as a journalist. For about two years he was a member of D Battery, Wellington, in which he took a great interest, and he was also a member of the Star Boating Club. While in camp he edited the "Dialsight," the artillery camp journal."
