"CAPTAIN J. F. DUNLOP Aftor a long illness, Captain James Fraser Dunlop, a returned serviceman of the recent war, passed away recently. A grandson of the late Mr J. F. M. Fraser and a son of the late Mr and Mrs James Dunlop, of Anderson's Bay, he was well known in business circles in both the North and South Islands as a partner in the importing and warehousing firm of James Dunlop and Co., founded by his father. He was an old boy of the Otago Boys' High School and an old playing member of the Pirates Football Club. He joined the 2nd N.Z.E.F. in 1942, and served for three years in North Africa and in Italy in the 4th Field Regiment, being among the troops which spearheaded the dash to Trieste. He returned in 1945, but soon became seriously ill. Deceased, who was 34 years of age, is survived by his wife and infant son."
