Biographical Notes:

“The remains of the late Gunner Louis Joseph de Vletter were accorded a military funeral on Monday afternoon. After being discharged from the British army, Gunner da Vletter came out to New Zealand, and did home service in the dominion. Developing some complaint, he was admitted to the Dunedin Hospital, where he died on Saturday. Gunner do Vletter served during the war in German West Africa. A party of returned soldiers acted as pall-bearers and also as a firing party at the grave at the Anderson's Bay Cemetery. The Rev. R. Scott Allan officiated at the grave.
