Biographical Notes:

"Deep sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. John Clarke. Te Araroa. in the death of their son, Leading Aircraftman Peter John Clarke, aged 24. as a result of an accident at New Plymouth. The accident occurred when Leading Aircraftman Clarke, who was riding his motor-cycle in New Plymouth, collided head-on with a car at about mid-day on Saturday. He received severe head injuries and died immediately. Leading Aircraftman Clarke was born in Auckland, but lived at Te Araroa, where he received his education from the Government Correspondence School and later followed the occupation of a sheepfarmer, until he volunteered for the air force. The deceased has one brother, Mr. George Clarke, Te Araroa.

Following a service in Cochrane's chap. William street, at 2 p.m. tomorrow, the funeral will leave for the Soldiers’ Plot at the Taruheru cemetery"
