Biographical Notes:

"Apparently falling from a train in which he was returning from Wellington to Palmerston North on Sunday night, Leading Aircraftman William Patrick Casey, aged 53, a married man, stationed in the Manawatu area, was run over by the train and killed instantly in the Tawa Flat tunnel, his body being severely injured. The body was found in the tunnel yesterday by a railway surfaceman. Mrs. Casey lives at 106 Toanui Street, Palmerston North, and there is a married daughter.
