Biographical Notes:

John arrived in England suffering from Chronic Peritonitis in December 1916. Transferred to the NZ Hospital at Brockenhurst, he was deemed "unfit for service" and returned to NZ., on the Maheno, from Liverpool, on March 17th 1917. His record does not show the cause of his death, but states that his disability was aggravated  by his service.
