Location Information:
This cemetery is about 1 kilometre from the centre of the town, and some 450 metres west of the road to Stiens and Holwerd. From Leeuwarden follow the 383 in the direction of Harlingen, turn first right past the BP garage into Euterpestraat. Follow this road to the end then turn left into Schapendijkje. The cemetery is along this road.
A large Resistance Memorial stands in a prominent position in the centre of the cemetery and the graves are east of this.
Historical Information:
Leeuwarden Northern General Cemetery contains the graves of 13 Commonwealth airmen of the Second World War, six of them unidentified.
