“Trooper Frank R. Weenink, killed, was a son of Mr Harry Weenink, Greymouth, but enlisted in Wellington, where he was employed in the head office of the Labour Department. He was a scholarship boy a few years ago, and later sat for the Junior and Senior Civil Service, and was a young man of excellent parts. He was twcnty-one years of age. His mother is the sister of the Rev J. A. Lochore, of Oamaru.
