Biographical Notes:

"Private Leslie Alexander Watt died at Waimate Hospital to-day from injuries suffered on Sunday afternoon, The car he was driving skidded on the wet road and collided with a power pole near Makikihi. Private Watt, who was returning to Burnham Camp from  week-end leave at Waimate, was taken to hospital, but he did not regain consciousness. The funeral will take place at Invercargill, where his parents live. An inquest was opened yesterday before Mr d’A. S. Grut, and was adjourned after evidence of identification had been given."
