Biographical Notes:

On the night of the 4th August 1940, the HMT Oswaldian, a trawler converted for minesweeping, hit a German mine in the Bristol Channel. Peter Wass was reported missing, believed drowned. His remains were later recovered. Another NZ'er. Able Seaman W.G. Perry was wounded.
