"The late Lieutenant Roderick Wallace Bremner, N.Z.T.S., who was killed in a motor accident at Bombay on Thursday night last, was in his 48th year. He was born at Drury, being a son of the late Mr and Mrs W. Bremner, old pioneers of the district, and was well known in Drury farming circles. He was a returned soldier of the last war, adjutant of the Drury Home Guard, and a member of the executive of the Papakura branch of the Franklin Returned Soldiers’ Association. He look a keen interest in the Drury Farmers’ Union, and was a past master of Lodge St. James, Drury. Brigadier D. E. Bremner is a brother. He is survived by Mrs Bremner and two sons, Maurice and Rex. The funeral at Drury Presbyterian cemetery on Saturday afternoon was largely attended, representatives of many organisations with which deceased was associated being present, which testified to the unbounded popularity he enjoyed.
