Biographical Notes:

Taking off in his Swordfish from Mersa Matruh, he experienced engine failure and crashed 400 metres from the airfield and burned out. His obsersver survived with burns. Orifinally buried at Mersa Matruh, his remains were later moved to El Alamein. [For Your Tomorrow, Errol Martyn, Vol 2, p 84]
