Biographical Notes:

"Mr Sidney Skilton, who died at Puramahoi (Nelson) from the effects of a disease due to the hardships of the Gallipoli campaign, was the second son of Mr and Mrs T. Skilton. He was a native of Takaka, and 33 years of age. Enlisting at Cape Foulwind, he became a member of the Second Contingent. The family have an exceptionally fine war record.. One brother, Jack, died of wounds on the Western front last December ; Rupert has returned to the Dominion, wounded; Neil and Philip are in the front-line in France; and Vincent enlisted and went into camp, but finally was turned down."
