Biographical Notes:

"General regret was felt when news was received that Sergt. William  Henry Shewan, only son of Mr and Mrs Shewan, of Mataora, had died at Trentham Camp, on Tuesday last. Deceased was only 33 years of age and was widely known and respected in this district.
