Biographical Notes:

"During the voyage of the Manuka from Sydney, Private John Ross, a member of the Sixteenth Reinforcements, died suddenly. He had been on leave visiting relatives at Tamworth, New South Wales. On the voyage he  complained of suffering from a cold in the chest, and succumbed this morning."
