 "The two young New Zealand airmen who were killed in a collision shortly after 8 o'clock on Thursday night have been identified. They were Edgar Wallace Mullinger, of Palmerston North, and Noel Seddon O'Keefe, of Morrinsville. The men were travelling on a motor cycle up Crawford road, Kilbirnie, and were involved in a collision with a tram proceeding in the opposite direction."
