Biographical Notes:

"The accident which occurred in Upper Childers road on Tuesday had fatal results, and the injured man, Flying Officer Clifford Morgan, died in the Cook Hospital on Wednesday afternoon. It is stated that the deceased’s injuries were received while he was walking in Childers road, near the Roebuck road intersection, when he was struck by a car. An inquest into the death was opened before the coroner, Mr. E. L. Walton, S.M., to-day. and after formal evidence of identification was given by Flight Lieutenant  F. J. Adams, the inquest was adjourned sine die. Flying Officer Morgan, who was on loan from the Royal Air Force, had been in New Zealand for four or five months, and before coming to the Dominion was on loan to the famous New Zealand 75th squadron in England. He went to this squadron as an armourer. He left a wife and one child in England."

Flying Officer  Morgan was returning from a dance at the sergeant's mess when the accident occoured, in his capacity as the camp's entertainment officer. He had served in the RAF for some 15 years,
