“Mr James McPhee, of Rakauroa, has received the sad advice that his son, Jack McPhee, was killed in action on October 9th, He left with the 12th Reinforcements, and gained the Military Medal lately. His brother Jim left with the 8th Reinforcements, and was killed in action on June 25th, 1916.
