Biographical Notes:

"The death has occurred of Captain Robert Henry McDonald. M.C., who served in the Dominion's Permanent Military Forces for about 30 years, and was a well known member of the Royal New Zealand Artillery. He left New Zealand in 1914 with the Main Body and was awarded the Military Cross for gallantry in action. After the war he spent some time in the Northern Military District and was well known as an instructor of secondary school cadets and field artillery units. Gaining a commission during the present war he was later promoted to captain. He is survived by his wife and four children."
