Biographical Notes:

Major Henry Beck served as a Lieutenant with the Canterbury Infantry Regiment  in WW1, from 1917.   A civil engineer, born in Chrischurch, he embarked for France aboard the Ruahine. Wounded, near Treport  in 1918, he was evacuated to hospital in London and discharged on the 12th Nov 1918, returning to New Zealand  for final discharge in May 1919.

Moving to Australia, he joined up in 1939 (service record date) and served in the Headquarters of the Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, NSW.

He died from illness in November 1945 and is buried in Sydney War Cemetery, Australia.
