Biographical Notes:

On 6^th January 1941, Flying a Tiger Moth from Hobsonville, he overshot the runway and, in attempting a turn, spun and stalled, crashing into the Waitemata harbour near Whau Creek. Although injured, he was helped out of the aircraft by his co-pilot, Flying Off. Peter Worsp and admitted to hospital in Auckland. Later transferred to Wellington Hospital, he died form his injuries in the 27^th September 1942. Peter Worsp died serving in the Pacific on 24^th December 1943 in is commemorated on the Bourail Memorial.
