Biographical Notes:

"An organised bathing party from the squadron found a metal float on the beach and loaded it on to the truck taking them back to base. The "float"  later identified as a German explosive mine sweep cutter, detonated as the vehicle entered camp. Five airmen died and are buried in the communal grave."
