Biographical Notes:

John Lamb was included in this Roll of Honour as he was listed on the  Commonwealth War Graves Commission's website,  as serving with the NZ Artillery,  Further research by Auckland War Memorial historian Dan Millar has shown that he was serving with the Royal Artillery, attached to the Indian Army, when captured by the Japanese. He was interned in a POW camp until liberated in 1945 and evacuated  on the NZ Hospital Ship MAUNGANUI which arrived at Wellington on the 8th August 1945.  He passed away shortly after arriving in NZ.

We leave this record in our Roll of Honour for information purposes, as he may appear in other research documents. Further detail is included in the attached letter.
