Biographical Notes:

"The death occurred at Christchurch on Wednesday of Second-Lieutenant Guy Stewart Ellis Joseph, aged 23 years, son of Mrs E. D. R. Joseph, Fendalton. and the late Mr Joseph. Second-Lieutenant Joseph, who was educated at Christ's College, was on the staff of Wright, Stephenson and Company, at Ashburton and Timaru. He was attached to the Ist Canterbury Regiment of the territorial forces and recently went into camp - at Timaru, Burnham, and Addington., He was apppinted a second-lieutenant in his regiment. He became ill a short time ago and died in hospital. While he was at college he was a keen shot in the cadets and he took an interest in skiing at Ashburton. Second-Lieutenant Joseph will be buried with full military honours at Waimairi cemetery to-day. A service will be held at St. Barnabas’s Church, Fendalton, and a firing party from the Ist Canterbury Battalion will attend the graveside.
