Biographical Notes:

"The death occurred recently at the Wellington Hospital of Trooper Frederick George Harsant, of the fifth reinforcements. The cause of death was pneumonia.  The deceased was 29 years of age, and was the third son. of the late Mr. Roger Harsant, of the Waikato district, and grandson of the late Dr. Harsant, of Onehunga. Trooper Harsant had been a resident of Gumtown, Mercury Bay, for the last 12 years, where he was most popular. He took a keen interest in military matters, and was a first-class rifle shot."
