Flying a Barracuda ll from HMS Jackdaw, off the coast of Scotland. He was  on a torpedo exercise against a floating target, when he was seen to dive into the sea. The observer’s remains were recovered. [For Your Tomorrow, Errol Martyn Vol 2 p 99]
