OFFICER DIES SUDDENLY An inquest was held at Ashburton yesterday on the death of Captain Charles George Baker, who died suddenly at a military camp on Tuesday. Captain Baker, who was aged 52 years, was a sharebroker in the city, living at Manchester street before joining the Army. Corporal Ronald F. Chinnery, of the 3rd Field Ambulance, said that he saw Captain Baker collapse and fall backwards when approaching his own tent. Witness lefl the ranks and assisted to carry Captain Baker In his tent, where he died five minutes later without regaining consciousness. Dr. W. G. Todd, who held a postmortem examination, said that death was caused by thrombosis of the left anterior descending coronary artery. The Coroner Mr E. C. Bathurst  gave a verdict in accordance with the medical evidence.
