Evacuation of the Gallipoli Peninsula complete

“An official announcement, issued on January 9, stated: “General Sir Charles Munro reports the complete evacuation of the Gallipoli Peninsula has now been successfully carried out. All guns and howitzers were got away, with the exception of 17 worn-out guns which were blown up by us before leaving. Our casualties amounted to one British rank and file wounded.
