Biographical Notes:

OBITUARY.

CAPTAIN LLOYD. The death is announced, at Hawera, of Captain William Thomas Lloyd, eldest son of the late Edward Lloyd, of Cashmere.' The late Captain Lloyd, who was thirty-six years of age, left New Zealand with the Main Body of the Expeditionary Force, holding the rank of quartermaster-sergeant. He secured his commission subsequently, and rose to the rank of captain. He returned to the Dominion recently by the Tofua and two days after his arrival took up the position of demobilisation officer at Wellington. He relinquished this position after the last transport left Britain and was spending a few days with a brother in Hawera, as part of his month’s demobilisation leave, when he contracted pneumonia, from which he failed to recover. The late Captain Lloyd was well known in Christchurch and was highly respected by all those with whom he came in contact. He will be accorded a military funeral to-morrow.
