Biographical Notes:

William Cook was the Captain of a Halifax bomber taking part in SOE Operations to Belgium. The aircraft was believed to have been bought down in the North Sea. The bodies of 4 crew were recovered, the other 5 are remembered on the Runnymede Memorial. The crew was larger than normal, 2 members being on board to gain operational experience.
