"Corporal Buckett was born and educated at Ngaruawahia. He came to Te Awamutu about twelve years ago and was engaged in truck driving for several local firms. About three years ago he joined the permanent staff of the Army and at the time of his death was stationed at Hopu Hopu. Corporal Buckett was held in the highest esteem by all and his tragic passing has called forth the deepest sympathy of all for his widow and son. He was the eldest son of Mr and Mrs S. Buckett, of Kihikihi, and to them also the sympathy of a large number of friends will be extended. Mr I. D. Buckett (Kihikihi) and Mr L. H. Buckett (Te Awamutu") are brothers, and Mrs Lupton (Korakonui) is a sister. A like measure of sympathy will be extended to them. The funeral took place in Te Awamutu to-day."
