NZ WAR GRAVES

Biographical Notes:

Russell was killed in an air accident, whilst training on a "bombing range" off the coast of Malaysia.  For some time after his death he was considered not to have died in an operational area, but in more recent times his name has appeared on various lists and Rolls of Honour.

His remains were never recovered, the plane, a Canberra,  having sunk in deep water.
