Biographical Notes:

Ronald Stevens, single, aged 29,  of Waimate, who was admitted to the Timaru Public Hospital on Thursday suffering from a gunshot wound in the forehead, died at the Timaru Hospital on Monday. Stevens had served for more than two years in the Pacific. He was a son of Mr and Mrs T. H. Stevens, of Waimate, and with his brother, Mr G.R. Stevens, conducted a mixed farm at Salisbury. An inquest was opened in the Timaru Coroner’s Court on Monday before Mr G. G. Chisholm, and was adjourned sine die after evidence of identification had been given by G. R. Stevens.
