Biographical Notes:

"When he fell under the 3.42 p.m. relief express for Auckland, as it was leaving the platform at Wellington yesterday, a naval rating was killed. He was Stoker Rhys Williams, aged 21, of H.M.N.Z.S. Philomel. His father, Mr David Williams, lives at Papanui, Christchurch.  Stoker Williams was apparently attempting to board the train as it was moving out."
