“Advice has been received through the London Red Cross that Sergeant Peter Woods, aged 23, son of Mrs. D. C. Woods, of 65 Clonbern Road, Remuera, and the late Mr. R. D. P. Woods, has died in a prisoner of war camp in Italy. After being educated at the Remuera School and at Flock House, Palmerston North, he was engaged in farming in the Te Awamutu district. He was later appointed to the New Zealand Permanent Staff and went overseas in November, 1941, being posted to a training camp in the Middle East as a member of the instructional staff.
