Biographical Notes:

“Dr Peter McNab, of Auckland, who died from pneumonia, supervening on influenza, was 34 years of age. Dr McNab contracted the disease about three weeks ago, but continued to attend his patients until he collapsed. He was born in Auckland and educated at the Epsom School and the Auckland Grammar School. While at the latter lie secured a senior national scholarship. After leaving school, Dr McNab was trained as a civil engineer, and for some time he was engaged in the Government railway service. In 1905 he went to Edinburgh to study medicine. He graduated M.B., C.B., with honours. On returning to New Zealand, he commenced the practice of his profession at Maungaturoto, and subsequently in Auckland. When the call came for doctors for war service, Dr McNab enlisted, and left New Zealand with the 7th Reinforcement, with the rank of captain in the N.Z.M.C. He served in Egypt and France, and subsequently at the New Zealand base depot at Sling and the New Zealand Military Hospital at Codford. He returned invalided in March, 1917, and resumed his practice in Auckland shortly afterwards. Dr McNab leaves a widow and two children.”
