Biographical Notes:

Patrick served with the Australian Infantry, enlisting in 1915 and serving in France. Following sickness and hospital in England, he transferred to the Signals Bde as a Temporary Cpl, and resumed his civilian role as a telegraph operator, with the Training Cadre in the UK. In 1918 he was discharged and returned to Australia.

He attested on the 16th February 1919 for the Home Guard in New Zealand, as was posted as a Guard at Featherson camp, which was being used for German POW's. Promoted to T/Cpl in August 1919, he passed away from Cirrhossis on October 5th 1919.
