Biographical Notes:

Our notes, sourced from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, state "One of three brothers, two of whom fell". Strangely, the CWGC do not list the other fallen brother.

He is likely to be Thomas Linney, who served with the Army Service Corps and was discharged as "unfit" and returned to the UK, where he died in Burnley an April 15th 1918 and is buried there in a family grave. Another brother, William, was listed as a POW, but returned to the UK. This information is "informal", and we await information from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, as we believe that his case is being investigated. (April 2017).
