Biographical Notes:

English born, Maurice had served with the NZEF in WW1, mostly in the UK. In March 1942, as an administration officer in the RAFVR, he was taken prisoner by the Japanese in Batavia (Indonesia). He was transferred to the NZRAF 15 months before his release and return  to NZ in 1945. [For Your Tomorrow, Errol Martyn, Volume 2, Page 369]
