Biographical Notes:

Left from Sidi Barani, on a sea patrol as the Observer in a Blenheim. On return, Sidi Barani's flare path could not be located and the crew headed for Fuka. The radio was broken, so a bearing could not be obtained. Believing that Fuka's flare path was seen, the plane attempted a low level appraoch, but struck and ridge and crashed.  The runway was actually LG 68 (Waterloo), midway between Fuka and Bagush. The other 2 crew members survived.
