Biographical Notes:

“SAPPER H. G. DELANEY – Word has been received by Mr and Mrs J. W. Delaney, 51 Norton Road, Frankton Junction, that their youngest son, Sapper Henry Gordon Delaney, has died of wounds received in Egypt. Sapper Delaney left New Zealand with the 4th Reinforcements in an infantry battalion, and after the Grecian campaign was transferred to the Engineers. He was born at Hamilton and educated at the Frankton Convent and Marist Brothers Schools. Before his enlistment he was employed by Messrs Ellis and Burn, Limited, in their survey department.
