Biographical Notes:

"The death occurred at the Palmerston North Hospital on Friday of Mr George Henry Belfit, who for some time past had been custodian of the Opera House. Deceased, who was 31 years of age, had served with the Main Body at the Suez Canal and on Gallipoli. He contracted enteric and was invalided to England after nearly three years of service. During the epidemic, he was in charge of the inhalation chamber at the Opera House, but he eventually fell a victim to influenza, from the effects of which he had not recovered."
