Biographical Notes:

Frederick Boughen Patterson, aged 51, of 10 Fleming street. New Brighton, collapsed while working at the Army canteen in Hereford street. Christchurch, yesterday afternoon. He was taken to the out-patients’ department of the Christchurch Public Hospital, where he died. Patterson had been attended by a doctor on previous occasions, but last evening it was not known whether an inquest would be necessary.
