“Private Edward Fitzgibbon (killed in action) was the third son of Mr Martin Fitzgibbon, of Rangiora. He was born and educated at North Loburn and was 39 years of age. He was farming in partnership with two brothers before going on military service with the 28th Reinforcements. Over a year before being drawn for service he enlisted, but was turned down by the Medical Board. A brother. His service record gives his DOB as 2/12/1878.
