Biographical Notes:

"While engaged in nlglit-flying training at Woodbourne last night an aircraft of the Royal New Zealand Air Force crashed. The sole occupant, Leading Aircraftman Arthur Ormond Hathaway, was killed. The cause of the accident is obscure. A court of inquiry, will be held. Leading Aircraftman Hathaway was born in Masterton in 1913. His next-of-kin is his father, Mr. A. D. Hathaway, of Martinborough".
