Biographical Notes:

“Advice has been received by friends of the family in Gisborne of the sudden death in his sleep on Tuesday night of Mr. Harold Foote, of Khandallah, Wellington, a former pupil of the Gisborne High School. Mr. Foote was a radio engineer employed on the staff of IYA station. His mother, Mrs. M. Foote, was formerly matron of the Gisborne High School Rectory. With her, Mr. Foote went to reside in Wellington some years ago. Mr. Foote left Wellington for service in the 2nd N.Z.E.F. and while on active operations in Italy contracted meningitis, which had since affected his health Mr. Harold Foote was a nephew of the late Mr. Frank Foote, a former rector of the Gisborne High School.” [Gisborne Herald, Volume LXXIII, Issue 22179, 15 November 1946, Page 6]
