Biographical Notes:

"Who only left at the end of 1916, went to Lincoln Agricultural College after Christmas, and while there had the misfortune to meet with a serious motor accident which ultimately proved responsible for his death. He entered Trentham Camp in June, 1918, but his health was not sufficiently good to stand the strain and he broke down. An operation was performed in the hope of saving his life, but his condition was too weak to allow recovery. His one desire was to join his brother in France as soon as possible, and throughout his illness he appeared little concerned about anything else. He was for two years in the XI., being captain the year he left." (In Memoriam, 1914-1918 [Wanganui Collegiate School])

Name spelled Godfrey in In Memoriam, 1914-1918 [Wanganui Collegiate School]
