Biographical Notes:

Ivan Pardoe appears on the "Kyoto List", a Roll of Honour of POW's compiled by British officers, whilst themselves POW's of the Japanese.

The list has him dying of "angina pecotris" in Petai, Sumatra and buried at "13km", so it is more than likely that he was forced to work on the Sumatra Railway and his grave, at the 13km point, subsequently lost.
